Description

from Shoji Tabuchi Show

Just what is the Shoji Tabuchi Show that everyone loving American music is raving about? At its heart is Branson, Missouri's first family of extraordinary musical entertainment - Shoji Tabuchi, his beautiful wife Dorothy and delightful daughter Christina.

The Shoji Tabuchi Show is an astounding state-of-the-art variety production rivaling the pure excitement of Las Vegas or New York.

This fabulous family production consists of an excellent sampling of Shoji's world-renowned fiddle mastery and showmanship as an entertainer; his wife Dorothy's gifted abilities as the show's creator, producer and director; and daughter Christina's talented addition as dancer and vocalist.

Comprised of music and dance of virtually every style, including country, gospel, Cajun, big band, show tunes, fifties and classical with cultural experiences such as fantasy visits to Hawaii, Mardi Gras and Broadway. Plus, there is a Japanese tribute featuring a giant dragon, a unique display of 26 Taiko drums, a breathtaking array of authentic Japanese costuming, flags and music, and a fascinating duet with Shoji and Christina singing in the Japanese language!

The show has special surprises and effects sprinkled throughout, such as animated laser light shows, clowns on a fire truck that is fun for everybody, confetti showers, balloons and bubbles, electronic fireworks, a black light presentation, and so much more it will leave you breathless.

All is showcased in a theatre that is a phenomenon in itself...often called the "Showplace of Branson." Its decor is reminiscent of the grand theatre palaces of the 1930's. Even the restrooms have awed visitors. The ladies' powder room and gentlemen's lounge are renown for their decor including fresh cut orchids, paintings, antiques...and don't forget the billiard table.

Dorothy Tabuchi and Christina Tabuchi appear on select dates only.

The Shoji Tabuchi Show...now "That's Entertainment" not soon to be forgotten!

The theatre is very nice....the bathrooms look like something out of a mansion! Shoji put on a very good show, many costume and set changes that happened very fast. His step daughter is very talented as well and has an amazing voice! Very good variety of music, costumes. I would go back to see his show again!

I had always heard that Shoji Tabuchi was the "don't miss" show in Branson. After our recent visit I affirm this opinion. Shoji's talented daughter and a small cast of other quality performers presented an action-packed show with a variety of songs catering to almost every taste. The performances are high energy and move rapidly. Shoji alternates his appearances with other cast members, demonstrating his versatility on the violin (and at times the fiddle music category). Other members frequently bring out a new jacket for him to don as he switches musical styles. Selections spanned various decades of the 20th century, with the appropriate costumes and dances. The small band proved adept at adapting to each style. After the intermission, the attention focused on drums Shoji imported from his native Japan, where he developed an interest in country music as a young man. The giant drum in the center was indeed impressive. The closing songs included the religious and patriotic material which seems obligatory in a Branson performance. The theater itself was pleasant, and the tales of the extraordinary bathrooms are true. Make sure to visit them, even if you don't feel the necessity. I was afraid my husband might linger by the pool table in the men's room, but he didn't keep me waiting long. Altogether, an enjoyable evening and one we would recommend.

We Love this show! It is wonderful! I will be back for the Christmas Show. The show has a variety of music, it will entertain the young and old. We are never disappointed and have such a great time. Shoji can play anything. Christina has become a great performer and we loved getting to see her baby girl.

Shoji's show is a Must See Branson Tradition. Although I felt it catered to the older crowd, I truly enjoyed myself. I would definitely go again.
